On May 24, the festivities begin in Jacó, as the first Festival de las Artes Audiovisuales de Garabito (Garabito Audiovisual Arts Festival) kicks off. The 9-day long program continues in a national campaign to promote culture and the arts, arriving on the heels of the 11th International Arts Festival and the Urban Arts Festival, both hosted in San José.

Rob Schneider Films Scenes of New Movie in Costa Rica

Actor Rob Schneider, of Deuce Bigalow, The Hot Chick and Big Daddy, recently finished filming scenes of his new movie The Chosen One near the Los Chorros waterfall in Grecia and the Parque Ecológico Tropical Arenal Mundo Aventuras, an ecological park in La Fortuna near the Arenal volcano. Plans to go on to Guapiles were changed to avoid the transportation.

Urban Arts Festival this Weekend in San Jose, Costa Rica

The Municipality of San Jose is at it again, with another strong effort to bring arts into the capital city of San Jose. This weekend on Saturday and Sunday a series of “urban arts” performances will take place from 10am to 7pm in the Plaza de las Garantías, on the south side of the Social Security building. Performances will be held by rappers, acrobatic skaters, bikers, jugglers and more.
