Details:
This property includes a 2 bedroom, 1 bath Tico style house on one of the lots and a cabina on another lot that has a sleeping space, bathroom, front porch and an outdoor kitchen area. The house was built in 1993 and the cabana was built in 2002. The road has a private entrance with a gate. You have electricity, public water and telephone access. You can use satellite for tv and eventually the internet. The house has a brand new roof and new stovetop installed in December 2005. It also has a hardwood ceiling and tiled floors throughout. There is a good sized living room which joins the kitchen. And there is a tiled terrace that wraps around the home. It comes with rattan furniture in the living room and beds in the bedrooms, but the furniture has been removed to discourage squatters.
The property is rich with insects, butterflies, and birds. In fact, you can spend your day bird watching without ever leaving the property. Flowers and trees are planted throughout the property, including starfruit, pineapples, bananas, and coconuts. The property was recently cleared, but it won’t take long for it to grow back if you like it overgrown.
Another great feature of this property is that quite a bit of it is level and is very easy to build on. The property is subdividable into 5 lots that you can build on or you can sell off part of the property if you don’t need 4.3 acres. The back lot is 1.66 acres and would be great place to build a new house as it has distant ocean view as well as mountain/jungle view. A small creek runs through the back of the property. The 5 lots are marked by a post that you can use to help delineate where someone could build additional houses or cabanas.
Property information:
The original property numbers are 6-125424-000 and 6-125425-000 or survey numbers P700992 - 2001 and P701086 - 2001. When you go to the property, there are posts to identify where the property can be subdivided.
Location and amenities:
The 5 lots are marked by posts that you can use to help delineate where someone could build cabanas should they want to build small cabanas to rent out.
Hope this gives you a better idea of where my property is located. I can make sure the house is open if you want to take a drive to see the property - just let me know in advance and I can have the house left open from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm.
The area and amenities:
The South Pacific is one of "the most biologically intense places on earth", according to National Geographic. This region of Costa Rica is rich with brightly colored exotic birds, azure waters, and emerald canopies that stretch for miles. There is great deep-sea fishing and diving. Nearby you can see dolphin and whales, go swimming, fishing, and diving, go on canopy tours, or just relax on an unspoiled tropical beaches.
Though Ojochal seems just a small village when driving past it on the road, once driving into town, one will find out it is actually a good size. Ojochal offers a nice mix of foreigners and Costa Ricans. The proximity of Palmar Norte and Palmar Sur with full services and an airport make Ojochal also a convenient place to live.
In Ojochal you can find most of the things you will need, but most foreigners who live there often go to either Palmar Norte (about 20 minutes drive) or Cortez (about 15 minutes drive) where there are banks and atms. Cortez is the location of the Municipal government. Ojochal itself offers a supermarket, hardware store, liquor store, and great restaurants. You also have a nice internet café. It just got telephone service, and many of the roads are being paved. Coming up from Panama, the roads are some of the best in Costa Rica.
